About Tufport Overlander
Tufport traces its roots to 1966 when two cousins started Fibermold in Richmond, BC to build fiberglass truck caps. The company evolved through two generations and a rebrand before landing on the Tufport name in 2007, and the third generation now works the factory floor at 3551 River Road West in Delta. What has not changed across nearly six decades is the core technique: proprietary Fibermold Technology presses each unit as a seamless one-piece unibody rather than bonding composite panels together, a method that eliminates the seams and adhesives where most camper leaks and delamination begin.
For most of its history Tufport supplied the Canadian market with T-series shells, stripped-down fiberglass slide-ins for everything from work trucks to hunting camps. In late 2023, working with Utah-based outfitter Wasatch Overland, Tufport launched the Overlander: a furnished, insulated, R22-rated slide-in with three interior layouts designed for serious off-grid use. The lightest version, the Ultra-Light, starts at 750 lbs and fits on a mid-size or full-size short bed. The furnished Sea to Sky and Coast to Coast variants climb to 900 lbs but add a proper galley, sleeping platform, fridge, and electrical system.
