What is Hallmark Manufacturing Inc.?
Hallmark Manufacturing, a family-owned Colorado builder making pop-up truck campers since 1958, sells factory direct with no dealers. Composite-roofed, lithium-standard slide-in pop-tops starting at $53,995, built in Fort Collins at a rate of roughly 20 units per year.
About Hallmark Manufacturing Inc.
Hallmark Manufacturing traces its roots to 1948, when founder Hubert Ward built his first camping trailer in Brownsville, Texas after World War II. The company worked its way across Colorado over the following two decades, operating under names like Warhawk Manufacturing and Aspen Campers before settling into the Hallmark identity along the Front Range. By 2000 the factory was in Fort Lupton, north of Denver, where the second generation ran production for more than two decades. In 2025, third-generation president Matt Ward moved the entire operation into a new three-building facility in Fort Collins with twelve acres of yard space, roughly triple what the Fort Lupton shop had to work with.
The entire lineup is factory direct. There are no authorized dealers anywhere, which means buyers call or visit the Fort Collins shop, spec their camper with the build team, and wait for their turn in the production queue. Hallmark intentionally caps output at around 20 units per year, a deliberate choice by Matt Ward to keep quality standards tight and reduce the excessive customization that had historically complicated production. Every camper that leaves Fort Collins shares the same core architecture: a molded fiberglass exterior, a proprietary maintenance-free composite roof, a patented manual roof lift system that operates with a cordless drill or hand crank in under a minute, real wood cabinetry in bamboo, maple, or oak, and a lithium battery system with at least 200 amp hours and 215 watts of solar as standard equipment. Hallmark backs that construction with a five-year structural warranty, one of the longest in the pop-up slide-in category.
The current model lineup includes the Milner for shorter beds, the side-wall-dinette Guanella for longer beds, the Victor with its front-wall dinette floor plan, and the Everest. The 2026 Vail returned to the lineup as a long-bed model with a full-size wet bath built into a pop-up platform, a rare feature in the category. Models like the Nevada, Cuchara, and Ute are on hold while Ward focuses production on the core four.

Models & Specs

Hallmark Victor
The Victor is Hallmark's front-wall dinette floor plan, a layout that dates to the company's 1960s roots and prioritizes forward-facing seating and storage at the expense of a traditional side-wall dinette, making it one of the most distinctive floor plans in the pop-up slide-in category.

Hallmark Guanella
The Guanella is Hallmark's side-wall dinette floor plan, a long-running full-size-bed layout offering a more traditional camp-kitchen feel compared to the front-dinette Victor on the same composite pop-top platform.

Hallmark Vail
The 2026 Vail is Hallmark's long-bed flagship and the only pop-up slide-in in the current lineup with a full-size hard-walled wet bath, making it the most self-contained option in the Hallmark lineup for extended off-grid travel.

Pros
- Factory direct sales mean no dealer markup and a direct relationship with the Fort Collins team that built the camper
- Composite roof and molded fiberglass exterior construction have a long durability track record across decades of Hallmark builds
- Patented roof lift system is fast and reliable, with no electric motor to fail or service on the trail
- Lithium power and solar are included in the base price rather than paid upgrades, which makes the real cost of ownership easier to compare
- Five-year structural warranty provides strong buyer confidence for a purchase in the $54,000-$60,000 range
- Long production history and loyal owner community provide a solid secondary market and a large base of owner experience to draw on
Cons
- MSRPs starting above $53,995 put Hallmark at the upper end of the slide-in pop-top price range, well above several comparable competitors
- No dealer network means in-person walkthroughs require traveling to Fort Collins, Colorado, which is a significant barrier for buyers outside the mountain west
- Production capped at roughly 20 units per year means lead times are long and availability is limited; buyers should expect a substantial wait
- The manual roof lift system (cordless drill or hand crank) is reliable but lacks the one-button convenience of electric systems offered by several competitors
- Limited production capacity creates a thin used-market inventory compared to volume manufacturers in the same form-factor category
