Phoenix Pop Up Campers has been building soft-wall pop-up slide-in truck campers in Colorado since 1988, when founder Rob Rowe broke away from the family's earlier truck-camper ventures to start a new company focused entirely on custom, factory-direct builds. Today Phoenix operates out of Commerce City, just outside Denver, and still sells every camper straight from the factory with no dealers anywhere in the country. What sets Phoenix apart is the degree of customization baked into every order. Rather than offering fixed configurations that buyers modify around the edges, Phoenix builds each camper to the specific measurements of the customer's truck bed. The lineup is organized by feature level: the entry Shell gets you a bare-bones pop-up with a queen bed and an electric roof lift; the Stealthy Mini adds a kitchen and a lower road profile purpose-built for mid-size trucks; and the Level 1 brings a full dinette, a 20-gallon fresh water system, a forced-air heater, and a 2.3 cu ft fridge. All models use a double-welded aluminum cage frame wrapped in fiberglass, with Dow R5-rated extruded polystyrene insulation in the walls, floor, and ceiling, and a triple-layer insulated soft-side liner that collapses flat while driving. The electric push-button roof lift deploys in under 30 seconds.

The custom-order model means lead times run longer than off-the-shelf brands, and the price point reflects the handbuilt nature of each unit. Phoenix campers are not the lightest option in the slide-in pop-top category, but for buyers who want a camper built around their specific truck rather than the other way around, Phoenix has been doing it longer than almost anyone else in Colorado.
