What is Radica Products?
Radica Products, built in Denver, Colorado, makes the MoonLander: a rigid aluminum truck bed camper shell that sleeps east-to-west across the bed, requires zero setup, and starts at $5,600 for the original and $7,950 for the taller MoonLander X.
About Radica Products
Radica Products started in a garage in Denver in 2021 with one idea: a hard-shell truck camper that doesn't make you choose between a sleeping space and a usable truck bed. Founder Luke Bushek, a manufacturing engineer, designed the MoonLander to sleep occupants east to west across the width of the truck rather than nose to tail, which frees up significant floor space and yields a sleeping length of up to 7 feet even in a mid-size bed. The result is a camper that mounts to the bed rails like a topper, takes no time to set up, and turns back into a cargo hauler the moment you remove the bed panels.
The construction is all aluminum: 1/16-inch aluminum skins bonded with 3M VHB acrylic tape over a welded aluminum frame, with stainless steel hardware and marine-grade sealants throughout. No rivets pierce the exterior skin. The honeycomb roof is rated for 500 pounds static and 300 pounds dynamic, so a roof rack with serious gear is fully supported. Since 2021 the lineup has grown to two main models: the original MoonLander and the taller MoonLander X, which adds a cab-over storage section and more interior headroom. Both are built to order in Denver and sized to fit the specific bed dimensions of the truck they're going on.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- East-to-west sleeping layout gives a genuinely full-length bed in a mid-size truck, which most competing shells cannot match
- Zero setup is literally true: no fabric panels, no poles, no snaps; you park and you sleep
- All-aluminum construction with no rivets and marine-grade seals keeps water out better than most riveted shells
- Removable lofted bed panels convert the entire floor to cargo mode, so the truck stays practical on work days
- Lower starting price than most hard-sided or pop-top toppers in the same weight class
- Made in Denver, Colorado with a short direct lead time compared to many overlanding-specific brands
- Reinforced roof rated for real roof-rack use, including 500 lbs static capacity
Cons
- Interior height of 33 inches on the original MoonLander means sitting up in bed but not standing; the MoonLander X adds headroom but still isn't a standing-height shell
- No integrated kitchen, plumbing, or bathroom; camp cooking and hygiene require separate gear
- Lead times of 2 to 4 months are typical depending on the model and season, as units are built to order
- Side pods extend the width beyond the truck's mirrors on some configurations; owners report this takes adjustment for parking and tight trails
- The east-to-west sleep orientation works well solo or for couples but leaves no room for a second sleeping area
- Insulation is an add-on package, not standard; base shells require the optional R7 package for cold-weather comfort
