About Hiatus Campers

Hiatus Campers was founded in 2018 in Bellingham, Washington by Erin and Tyler, who went shopping for a truck camper and found nothing that hit all three of their targets: lightweight, compact, and fully weatherproof. So they designed their own. The result is a patented folding-wall system in which rigid composite panels hinge up with the roof, deploying a full-height insulated shelter in under 15 seconds from the driver's seat, without a ladder or a second person.

What sets Hiatus apart from canvas pop-tops is the wall material. Instead of fabric that breathes moisture and sags in wind, Hiatus uses insulated composite panels with closed-cell foam throughout, so the camper holds warmth in freezing temperatures, sheds rain, and stays quiet on the highway. The lower frame is welded aluminum, and every unit is built start to finish in the Bellingham shop. The slide-out sleeping platform stows flat while driving and deploys to a full bed when popped, leaving the truck's payload capacity largely intact. Configurations span mid-size and full-size trucks, and both angled and vertical lower-frame options let you tune interior height for your specific rig and use case.
